The Timbers
Historic Building Restored to Revive
A Community Tradition in Eureka, MT.
We are located inside of The Timbers, (the former Eureka Town Hall); adjacent to Timber's Event Center.
The original Town Hall was conceived and created by the town, for the town. Starting in January 1935, a group of residents began to raise money for the development of a unique structure; boasting an impressive example of rustic log construction. The Great Depression hampered fundraising efforts, yet after four years, the visionary group was able to secure half of the needed funds through donations and labor. Construction was finally made possible with the involvement of the WPA and was completed in 1943.
Over generations, the building served as the community town hall and a furniture store. A serendipitous opportunity up for us to purchase the building. As a local family who values history, tradition and hospitality---we've restored the aging architecture, while maintaining its rustic-elegance, to revive it's purpose as a welcoming place to gather.
The Timbers hosts The Timbers Event Center for weddings and other memorable events and The Gathering Place Coffee Shop. The building is listed as 'Eureka Community Hall' on the National register of Historic Places, and has been described as "The most substantial and well-crafted building in Eureka."
We look forward to spending time with you here!
